PART FOUR: STAMPEDE RODEO

We had booked grandstand sets for the rodeo for Sunday 6th and as it turned out we were able to catch a bus from the campground for $10 return. This was cheaper than the $25 we would have had to pay for parking plus it was much easier than driving around trying to find a parking spot. The stampede itself is very similar to the Royal Easter Show; sideshows, amusement rides, exhibitions, livestock competitions and concerts and of course the rodeo itself.

Our seats weren’t the best and we were in the open on a very hot day. Nonetheless it was an incredible event with the best animals and competitors who are there by invitation only. The Stampede Corporation is a huge business as they actually own the Park, a huge ranch where they breed the animals for the rodeo and just recently they bought a huge tract of land next to the Park which is destined for luxury apartments.
