INTO THE STATES

Well after only a couple of days we realised we were not going to be disappointed as the States proved to be equally as picturesque as Canada. Washington is very green with lots of forest and wilderness areas. After leaving Wa we crossed into Idaho but only very briefly before moving into Montana. Montana is just like we had imagined from our movie experiences and stories of the old west. Vast open spaces, green farmland and open range. In fact they call it "Big Sky Country." Below is a picture of a sign we saw in Montana and we both thought that you would only ever get to see that in America. Not bad eh! Makes one wonder what type of gifts they sell in the shop.

Many of the towns and small villages even had huge letters posted on the hillside which could be seen as you were driving into town, like the one below.

We eventually arrived at Yellowstone NP which is actually shared between Montana and Wyoming although the bulk belongs in Wyoming. They both like to boast that they are the home of Yellowstone and I guess technically they are.
